Aloha from the Island of Maui.
There are lots of cool workshops and conferences coming up right now in Photoshop and digital photography training for you to get in on. This week Helene and I are kicking back in Maui getting ready for the 2nd annual Maui Photo Festival. This will be several days of fun and sun in one of my most favorite places in the world, Ka’anapali, Maui. Although we have taught classes here before, this is our first time teaching at this conference as we had a timing conflict with being here last year for the first one, but we don’t plan on letting that happen again. This is definitely the place to come and recharge your batteries.
Next, home for a day, and then off to another Photoshop World West in Las Vegas. This is a great year for Photoshop as we are celebrating the 20th year anniversary of it's first release from Adobe. This will be the first Photoshop World since the official release of Photoshop CS5 and there are lots of new classes to choose from. Helene and I will be busy with platform and tradeshow classes and of course it’s time again for my favorite night of the year, hosting the all conference after hours class, The Art of Digital Photography. I have had the honor for several years of hosting this panel of some of the greatest names in photography as we all get time to show off our latest portfolio work. Scott Kelby and his crew know how to put on a great show.
As Director of Education of The Digital Imaging Institute for Science and Medicine, we are ready for our first multi-day imaging workshop for ophthalmology held in Yosemite National Park organized by our CEO, Photographer Mark Maio. We hope this will be the just the start of many great workshops held for different specialties in imaging within science and medicine and Helene and I are looking forward to this a lot. Mark and I will have a good warm up for this next month in Chicago as we are both presenting at the Annual Meeting of The American Academy of Ophthalmology with as many as 30,000 doctors and technicians attending the conference. This will be my third year of presenting programs there sponsored by Adobe.
Another new show for us this year is the first California Photography Festival held at the Light Workshops in Los Osos California. Helene and I are teaching several classes there and I will be giving a featured Canon Explorer of Light evening presentation at night open for the public that is free of charge. Hope all of you in California might be able to stop by and see that.
That’s all for now. Need to get down to the pool, catch some rays and recharge..... Aloha……
